Demetra Gregory Peters is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. She holds a BFA in Fine Art and a Masters degree in Art Education. She has been involved in the Arts, Crafts and Decorating most of her life.

Demetra is the daughter of the late Fr. George and Presbytera Cleopatra Gregory from St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall PA. Her parents instilled in her a great love and respect for her Church and its practices. Through her parents, Demetra also gained a thorough understanding of the Church’s traditions, and what decorative accessories are required to be supplied for the sacraments of Weddings and Baptisms.

Demetra invites you to view the Greek Orthodox Traditions portion of this website, which sets forth what sacramental accessories are typically required by the Church, and explains the roles which these accessories play in the services.

She uses her specialized training and her artistic skills to help her customers celebrate the Church’s sacraments in the most beautiful and elegant way possible.

Demetra began Special Occasions out of her home 14 years ago. Her business grew to the point that she opened a retail store in 2006. This afforded her the opportunity to expand her stock and supply her customers with clothes and gifts along the important decorative accessories for Baptisms and Weddings.
